Party Poker Extends 'The Genius' Extra 5 Million Hands
You don't have to be a genius to realize the potential "The Genius" promotion at Party Poker has for online poker players. Now players have even more opportunity to win extra cash as Party Poker extends its promotion an extra five million hands.
The promotion began July 6 and has since awarded more than $147,000 in prizes for Genius hands. For every 50,000th hand played on cash tables, the pot is squared with everyone in the hand getting a piece of that pot and the winner of the hand getting the original pot on top of that.
The minimum amount that could be split among players initially was $100, but Party Poker listened to feedback from players and the minimum genius jackpot has been raised to $250. Every one millionth hand will have a guaranteed $10,000 prize pool, with all the players dealt into the hand getting a piece of the prize.
Originally the promotion was going to end with a $100,000 prize for those in the 10 millionth hand. Now it will go for 15 million hands, with those in the 15 millionth hand getting a piece of a $50,000 payout.
"It didn't take a genius to extend this promotion as the feedback has been great," said a Party Poker spokesman. "With over 7.5 million hands dealt already, the golden $100k 10 millionth hand is fast approaching. It is difficult to tell when this might happen but our initial estimation is that Thursday could be a seriously genius day."
